Arc Furnace Failure
The protective brick lining of an electric arc furnace had been damaged and eroded away by a water leak in a cooling panel over a period of time. The furnace containment failed when a load of molten steel contacted the exterior steel shell through the eroded area. Drake Exhibits created a series of graphics designed to orient the non-technical viewer to the function of the furnace and its associated terminology.
