A child succumbed to injuries sustained in a car accident after the booster seat restraint in which he was riding came loose.
On behalf of the defense, Drake Exhibits located an exemplar of the 1986 Toyota Camry's rear section and prepared it as a trial exhibit to illustrate proper seatbelt fastening methods.
Drake also produced a model - at three times actual size - of the Camry's seatbelt mechanism that illustrated how a foreign object lodged in the belt retractor (in this case, a rubber band) would cause the seatbelt to malfunction. Both exhibits were critical to a swift verdict for the defense.
