Child Restraint Seat Buckle

One issue in a case resulting from a fatal car crash was the ease with which a child could unbuckle a car seat restraint. Critical to the understanding of the case was the design and function of the buckle mechanism

Drake Exhibits was retained to create a series of graphics depicting the design and function of the buckle. Drake created a 3D computer model of the buckle housing, spring, latch plate, and latch. From this, images were created to show the sequence of movement of the internal parts as the latch plate enters the buckle housing.
