A foundry worker sustained fatal injuries after being caught in a sand conveyor. In defense of the conveyor equipment manufacturer, Drake Exhibits conceptualized and created demonstrative evidence to explain how improper operations, rather than product defects, caused the accident.
Using engineering drawings and post-accident police photographs, Drake Exhibits produced a scale model and three graphic exhibits of the foundry and conveyors that illustrated equipment location and mechanical processes involved in moving sand through the system. The exhibits effectively demonstrated that the accident was caused by improper placement of a steel plate near the conveyor juncture that increased floor height and exposed workers to injury.
